Use your talented skills to get the J.O.B.

When undergoing an executive level job search (actually, any level of job search) there are two things that you’ll need in order to successfully obtain the position.

The first, and most obvious, aspect you need to obtain are skills. Skills are what will get you into an interview, and they are the key thing hiring managers want when performing an executive level job hire.

The second, and equally important, quality you must possess is talent. Your talents will get you hired. Having the skills will get you the interview, and your talent using those skills will get you the job. There are numerous other applicants that have the same skill set as you, and they too have scored themselves an interview. They are the professionals that went to school for the same major as you and have been taught the same thing.

Your talents are qualities that cannot be learned. They are unique to yourself and cannot be transferred over to another. Your talents are going to seal the deal in your executive job search. That being said, it is very important to accentuate these features.

During your executive interview, it’s best that you talk about how your talents and show the employer how your talents have benefited you in previous jobs, as well as how they’re going to benefit the employer in the new position you’re interviewing for.

Big Job Small Company

When you think of an executive level job, most of us think big city, tall building, hundreds, if not thousands of employees, and nationwide locations. Most executive job seekers have heard of the term “think big” but this saying doesn’t fit with everything.

For those of you that are searching for an executive level career position, you might better off to “think small”. You are not wrong to think that a large corporation could provide you with a prestigious executive position, as well as a large salary, but you would be wrong to believe that bigger companies “need” you, making the likeliness of this “dream job” to come about.

Smaller companies also tend to take maturity, experience, and a varied background into consideration before anything else.

There are an endless supply of resources to be found on the internet for an executive job search. The fact that you can literally visit a million different websites providing you with information regarding how you should go about your executive job search, almost gives you a feeling that you proceed to do it all on your own, without the help of a recruiter and/or a career consultant. This may be true, yes, but there is no replacement for the personal expertise of a career consultant, especially on the executive level.
